Revs. Al & Deb Warner are the founders and directors of Set Free Inc.
Set Free is a networking ministry connecting leaders for a Nehemiah-like rebuilding and transformation of our Buffalo/Niagara region.
"Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help." Eccl. 4:9-10 (NLT)
The call to leadership has too often been a call to loneliness. Jesus modeled that leaders are better together as He called 12 disciples. In Acts, this team of Servant Leader disciples 'turned the world upside down!' What might happen in a modern-day city if a team of Servant Leaders came together and focused on Kingdom purposes? Perhaps we could turn a city right side up!
Set Free is bringing teams of servant leaders together to build relationships, strategize, and steward the Word of the Lord over our cities. Al & Deb believe that these relational networks are a key stepping stone toward life-giving city transformation.
"I pray that they will all be one, just as you and I are one—as you are in me, Father, and I am in you. ...May they experience such perfect unity that the world will know that you sent me and that you love them as much as you love me." John 17:21,23 (NLT)
Hours from His own death, Jesus hammered home the principles of the Kingdom to His disciples -- perfect unity. Buffalo/Niagara Falls are typical of most modern North American cities -- more walls (denominations, race, gender, age, etc.) dividing Christians than bridges uniting Christians.
Set Free has worked since 1997 to build bridges between leaders to impact our city. Al and Deb facilitate a group of pastors who have met since September, 1999, for weekly prayer.
“The Buffalo/Niagara Region has begun to reflect more of the unity of the Kingdom of God because of Revs. Al and Deb Warner’s faithful service.
They are the feet to our prayers. I've longed and prayed for unity in the church, for racial and denominational barriers to be removed and for the church to have great positive influence in our region.
Al and Deb have done more to make this happen in more places than anyone I know."
